After backpacking trip into Washington’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness, I almost left without making a single photograph. Smoke from distant wildfires muted the sky, the light never arrived, and sunrise felt uneventful — until everything changed.

Join me as I hike through and explore some of the most beautiful mountains I've seen. This was an incredible 2 night trip and one I've been wanting to do for several years. I was so close to not starting due to bad forecasts and smoky conditions. But something greater told me to go and boy, was it stunning. This adventure, I hike a 40 mile circumference around Mt. Hood, one of Oregon's most famous volcanoes and mountains in search of a photograph. It was a tiresome trek. And although the weather was perfect for adventure, the light was difficult to photograph. Watch as I attempt to photograph this incredibly beautiful route and enjoy the scenery along the way.
